When we say someone sees the world through rose-colored glasses, we usually mean that they are overly optimistic or naive. But the more I think about it, the more I see it as an admirable trait.
It's easy to complain. But maintaining a good mood despite adverse circumstances takes real willpower. And perhaps it's through such a perspective that one realizes how few real problems one actually has.
So maybe it's not about closing one's eyes to reality. Maybe it's just a conscious decision not to let it rob one of one's joy.
