Metro. Not just a tunnel beneath the ground. Not just a train of carriages that takes you from point A to point B. The metro is the artery of the city. A pulse beating beneath its asphalt skin. Every day, thousands of stories. All of them just silhouettes of people, like ghosts of urban life and at the same time the main characters of their own lives. Metro has accompanied me throughout my whole life, and with this painting I wanted to pay tribute to it — a painting that, when you look at it, makes you feel as if you're right back in that moment riding the metro home late at night from a party, nervously studying for an exam, happily returning from a date…
